NCAA Champion Olivia Rosendahl Returns to Northwestern as Assistant Coach
NCAA diving champion Olivia Rosendahl was hired Wednesday as an assistant coach at her alma mater, Northwestern.
Rosendahl was a two-time NCAA champion and six-time All-American. She worked previously as the Director of Operations for USA Diving and occupies the position of diving graduate assistant in Evanston.
“It’s incredibly special to welcome Olivia back to Northwestern,” head coach Rachel Stratton-Mills said in a press release. “She is one of the most accomplished athletes in our program’s history and has continued to make an impact on the sport at the national level. Our divers will benefit tremendously from her experience, perspective, and passion for this program, and I know she will be an outstanding mentor for our student-athletes.”
A native of Los Angeles, she made the championship finals in all three diving events at Big Tens as a freshman, qualifying for NCAAs in 1-meter and platform. A year later, she became the program’s first national champion by winning platform. She finished eighth on 3-meter, the first Wildcat to be named All-American honors since 1999-2000.
She repeated as NCAA platform champion in 2018 and was named the Big Ten Diver of the Year as well as Co-Diver of the Meet at the Big Ten Championship, winning the 3-meter title. She graduated from Northwestern with all three diving records.
