In the modern era of college football, every team is impacted by the transfer portal, and the Nebraska Cornhuskers are no exception. The portal officially opens on Jan. 2, 2026, the day after the CFP quarterfinals.
Schools and players will have to wait until that date to officially communicate with one another. With the closure of the spring portal period, this is now the one time a year players have a chance to leave. The transfer portal officially closes on Jan. 16, 2026
