Nebraska football was able to land a big-time commitment on Monday, as class of 2027 four-star wide receiver Tay Ellis committed to the program. Ellis is the 35th overall wide receiver in the 2027 class, and the 42nd overall player in his class from the state of Texas per the Rivals industry rankings.
He was a coveted wide receiver during the recruiting process, receiving offers from SMU Mustangs, Texas A&M Aggies, Texas Longhorns, and Oklahoma Sooners, among others. Ellis has been having a tremendous season for Crowley High School in Texas. He has tallied 54 catches for 663 yards and eight touchdowns so far this season, per statistics from MaxPreps.com.

The 2027 Nebraska football recruiting class is shaping up to be a good one. The class itself ranks fourth overall in the country and first in the Big Ten according to the Rivals Recruiting Rankings.
