Nebraska basketball picked up some midseason accolades on Wednesday, as Rienk Mast was named to the Sporting News Midseason All-American Third Team on Wednesday.
Mast has been a dominant force for the Huskers. He has averaged 15.5 points, 6.4 rebounds, and 2.9 assists per game this season. He has been able to provide both offensive and defensive contributions to this point in the season. One of his best games this season came against Winthrop early in the season. He recorded 30 points in 33 minutes on 11-of-18 shooting.

He has played at a high level during Big Ten play as well. He recorded 13 points against the Indiana Hoosiers on Saturday and 19 against the Michigan State Spartans on January 2, both of which were among his better performances in conference play.
Most recently, he scored five points on Tuesday night against the Oregon Ducks in 17 minutes. He also chipped in four rebounds and three assists.
Mast’s veteran presence has keyed Nebraska basketball’s success over the last couple of months. His continued stability and veteran leadership will play a significant role in the postseason.
