Newcastle Red Bulls have further strengthened their squad for next season by signing George Turner from Harlequins.
The 33-year-old hooker, a veteran of 50 caps who is part of Scotland’s squad for next month’s Six Nations, has agreed a one-year contract with the option to extend for a further year.
Turner only joined Harlequins last summer after a season playing in Japan for Kobelco Kobe Steelers.
Before that, Turner had spent six years at Glasgow Warriors with his final game for them coming in their victory away to South African side Bulls in the United Rugby Championship (URC) in June 2024.
“It’s a tremendously exciting time to be joining Newcastle Red Bulls with everything that’s going on up there at the moment,” he told the club’s website, external.
“I’m determined to contribute towards the club’s growth as they look to kick on under the new ownership, and to be part of what looks like being a really competitive playing group.”
