Niemann reveals true motivation after LIV Golf UK win: I don’t play for the money

by

Winning one of the golf tournaments carries a significant amount of money, but are most of the golfers motivated by monetary prizes or other things? Joaquin Niemann, the winner of LIV Golf UK, did a great thing and further consolidated his leadership position by winning the last tournament.

Will there be a trophy in the end?

The Chilean golfer talked about his success at the press conference after LIV Golf UK, and the reporters were particularly interested in whether Niemann was thinking about the money that is at stake.

The Chilean, on the other hand, admits that he has somewhat different motives.

"Yeah, definitely a lot of money at stake, but I don't play for the money. I feel like I — whenever I was there on the course feeling that competition, I feel like sometimes trying to win for me is probably one of the biggest challenge. That's why I think it kind of became pretty tough during the round today having Bubba coming up pretty hot."- he said.

Motivation

Niemann is primarily motivated to achieve an important victory and appear at the top.

Joaquin stresses that if Bubba Watson picked up the pace and won in the end, he would be pissed.

For many, the Chilean is currently one of the best golfers, although his results at the Majors are not particularly great.

"All I want to do is win. I want to be the best in the field. Yeah, I don't really think about the money when I'm in that situation. I feel like if Bubba would've beat me I would be pretty pissed and not happy. Yeah, and I think money will not change that feeling."- he concluded.

This kind of victory opens many paths for Niemann, who will try to do the same in the next two tournaments, and emerge as the winner this season.

There is no doubt that he will be the main favorite in the upcoming tournaments.
