Football:
Athletic Director Michael Alford announced he’s excited about the direction of the program under the new front office structure but I have to admit; I’m a little confused on how much of a front office it is when the Coach has the final say to overrule front office decisions.
“Well, it’s Coach Norvell [who has final say]. Coach Norvell has HC next to his name. We’re all here to make sure we make the best decisions for Florida State University football under his guidance. It’s our job that he has all the information to make a proper decision for that.”
While Norvell did not deny that he would have final say, he hammered home that there would be “checks and balances” between the coaches and the personnel department.
At least four of FSU’s prominent front seven players are planning to enter the transfer portal. The biggest potential loss would be both Desir twins as they’re reportedly planning to enter together.
This would be a major hit to the FSU defensive line unit if the twins follow through with leaving Tallahassee. The coaching staff will have to work hard to retain them and undoubtedly invest a hefty number.
In the modern landscape of college football the undertones are quite clear here: pay up.

As for Amaree Williams; this announcement seems final:
Another LB is reportedly planning to enter the portal but like Omar Graham, Jon Cryer hasn’t officially put his papers in yet.
Recruiting:
FSU received some good news on the transfer portal front as Texas RB Quentrevion ‘Tre’ Wisner will transfer to Florida State.
A RB room of Wisner, Kromah, Singleton, and Thomas is a talented room with a variety of skills. Roydell Williams’ miss aside; FSU’s hit rate in the portal at the RB has generally led to very productive (Gavin Sawchuk, Tre Benson, Jashaun Corbin) play at the RB position.
FSU has reportedly answered its long-snapper question mark; now they have to find a punter to secure special teams for 2026.
