We have entered the first week of the 2025 regular season, during which UNC football will take a week off from football and not be playing this weekend.
North Carolina will join three other teams in the Atlantic Coast Conference that are taking this week off, including the Miami Hurricanes, SMU Mustangs, and the Clemson Tigers. Both UNC and Clemson will be fresh for their contest next weekend.

The Tar Heels have an interesting bye scenario this season as their game against Clemson will be their only contest in almost an entire month. They played UCF on September 20th and, outside of their game next week, won’t play until October 17th, almost 30 days in difference.
UNC football will return to action against the Clemson Tigers at Kenan Stadium in Chapel Hill next Saturday, Oct. 4. The Tigers have been reeling this season. After opening the season as the No. 4-ranked team in the country, Dabo Swinney’s squad has lost to former No. 9-ranked LSU, barely beat Troy, lost their first ACC clash against Georgia Tech, and was run over by Syracuse, starting their year 1-3.
Kickoff for the game was announced this week as a noon ET start time. Clemson at North Carolina will be televised on ESPN as a prime-time game.
The Tar Heels have lost both of their big contests this year, getting embarrassed by both Big 12 schools they have played. They lost by 34 points to TCU at home and by 25 points on the road to UCF. This game will be a big factor in whose season slips away and whose season has some resurrection life.
