Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) has been dealing with a couple of high-profile betting scandals, part of a much larger problem in sports. That’s why every betting line jump ahead of a scheduled mixed martial arts (MMA) event comes with an increasing amount of scrutiny.
Like the short-notice showdown between Jailton Almeida and Rizvan Kuniev at UFC Vegas 113.
That said, not every wacky betting line results in a precautionary cancellation.

Almeida, 34, opened at -400 and somehow sank all the way to -150 (-61%). As for Kuniev, he opened at +330 and now sits at +120, suggesting an avalanche of action on the 33 year-old Russian.

Both combatants are coming off split decision losses in their last outings. Kuniev (12-3-1, 1 NC) was originally scheduled to fight Ryan Spann but the bout fell apart at the last minute. Matchmakers were able to convince Almeida (22-4) to step in and plug the hole on the UFC Vegas 113 main card.
Much ado about nothing? The outcome of this fight may be the determining factor.
