In the first road game of the 2025-26 Notre Dame men’s basketball season, the Irish came up just short against Ohio State, losing 64-63 in Columbus.
The Buckeyes were chasing Notre Dame for the majority of the game, but tied it up at 46 with around 11-minutes left in the second half. The home team would then take a 6-point lead, but the Irish would storm back to take a 1-point advantage at 63-62 with just over 2-minutes left in the contest.

Neither team would score until the final seconds, as it was Ohio State who made the final basket and the deciding points to get to the 64-63 final. Notre Dame let this one slip out of its hands, and now stands at 3-1 early in the season.
Markus Burton led the Irish in scoring with 14-points, but it was a bad shooting day for his going 3-for-14. Jalen Haralson continues to impress, scoring 13-points on 5-for-10 shooting. Carson Towt controlled the boards with 12-rebounds, and chipped in 8-points.
Notre Dame will be back at home on Wednesday night, as it will host Bellarmine in a non-conference matchup.
