SOUTH BEND — Notre Dame Athletics and Under Armour have partnered to host Irish Jam, a free Notre Dame men’s and women’s basketball event coming to Eddy Street Commons October 3. Visit South Bend Mishawaka is also helping run the event, supporting a fan fest that includes games and prizes.

The event begins at noon, with a half-length basketball court set up in the middle of Eddy Street Commons. Interactive fan events and locally-based, mini basketball tournaments are set to be featured on this half-court until 4 p.m. Women’s head coach Niele Ivey and men’s head coach Micah Shrewsberry will address the crowd on the court at 6 p.m. before the official introduction of their respective rosters.
“We are thrilled to host Irish Jam on Eddy Street this year,” Ivey said in a press release. “Community engagement and connectivity is extremely important to me, and this event provides the perfect opportunity to showcase our program and connect with South Bend.”
Prior to Irish Jam, fans are encouraged to vote for two team captains who will draft co-ed teams that will compete in a 3-point contest, a skills challenge and a “shooting stars” challenge. New Notre Dame men’s and women’s basketball merchandise will debut and be sold at the event.

“Irish Jam is a unique opportunity to bring Notre Dame basketball to our fans,” Shrewsberry said in a press release. “Having an event outdoors on Eddy Street will allow us to engage with the entire South Bend community. I want to give a huge thank you to Under Armour for making this event possible. I can’t think of a better way to kick-start what should be an exciting ’25-’26 basketball season.”
The Eddy Street Commons parking garage will be available from either the Burns Avenue or Napoleon Street entrances, and in case those lots are full, those planning to attend are encouraged to park in the Joyce and Stadium lots or other available on-campus parking across from Eddy Street Commons.
