Notre Dame football: Top-5 Jeremiyah Love moments

by

On Tuesday night, Notre Dame star running back Jeremiyah Love officially declared for the NFL draft.

During his three seasons in South Bend, Love set multiple records, while helping the team reach the College Football Playoff championship game last season. While the team fell short of its goal, Love was special once again, winning the Doak Walker Award and finishing third in the Heisman Trophy voting.

He’s going to go down as one of the great Notre Dame running backs in the schools storied history, and Love has set the bar extremely high for the room.

When looking back on his career, it was a fantastic one, and here are my top-five Jeremiyah Love moments during his Notre Dame career.

No. 5: Jeremiyah Love dominates against USC (Oct 18th, 2025)

This game was all about Love, as he stared off Notre Dame’s scoring with a 12-yards touchdown to even the game up at 7 early in the first quarter. While that would be the only score of the game, Love dominated rushing 24 times for 228-yards and catching 5 passes for 37-yards. It wasn’t just the huge game, it as also the opponent, as the Irish defeated USC in what could be the last game these two play for the forseeable future.

No. 4: Jeremiyah Love scores three times on his ‘Senior Day’ (Nov. 22, 2025)

It was the last time that Love would play in front of the Notre Dame fans in South Bend, and it was a memorable one. It wasn’t about volume in this one as the star back touched the ball just 8 times, but three of them went for touchdowns over 171-yards. It just one of those performances where your jaw just drops again and again.

No. 3: Jeremiyah Love hits a huge home run against Boston College (Nov. 1, 2025)

If you love explosive runs, then Love should be one of your favorite backs. One more than once occasion, he’s taken a handoff from inside the ten to the house, and did it again against BC. This one was important also due to the impact on the game, as the Irish were leading just 18-10 early in the fourth quarter. His 94-yard scoring jaunt put the game away for Notre Dame.

No. 2: Jeremiyah Love wills his way to a CFP score against Penn State (Jan. 10, 2025)

The length of this run wasn’t the impressive part, it was the will of Love that was. Notre Dame was in an absolute slugfest with Penn State, with the chance to play for a title in front of them. The Irish embarked on a 10-play, 71-yard drive, that ended with one of the most exciting 2-yard runs you’ll ever see. Love wouldn’t be denied, as he fought his way through multiple tacklers and forced his way into the end zone.

No. 1: Jeremiyah Love starts the 2025 CFP run with a huge bang (Dec. 20th, 2024)

It was an in-state matchup in the first round of the College Football Playoff that everyone had their eyes on, and Notre Dame rose to the occasion. A big part of that was the confidence that was built on the third offensive play of the game for the Irish. The first two didn’t go well, a Love 1-yard run then Riley Leonard getting picked off. Star safety Xavier Watts had his back, and picked off a pass of his own, thwarting the Hoosiers from the end zone. The very next play, Love raced 98-yards down the sideline for a lead that Notre Dame wouldn’t give back. It was the start of a magical run for the Irish, and one that many will remember for a long time.
