Notre Dame gets a signature win over Missouri in the ACC/SEC Challenge

by

Through the first few weeks of Notre Dame men’s basketball’s 2025-26 season, they’ve had some struggles against top teams, but that changed on Tuesday night as they bested previously undefeated Missouri 76-71 in South Bend.

The Irish were down 40-28 with under a minute left in the first half, but managed to cut the lead to 40-33 at the intermission. That burst to close the first-half gave Notre Dame the confidence in the second 20-minutes to take the Tigers best shots and kept battling. There is no doubt that this is the best Irish win of the season, and helps the ACC take a 5-3 lead over the SEC in the conference challenge, however other games are still in progress.

Markus Burton led Notre Dame in scoring with 18-points, while star freshman Jalen Haralson had 13-points, but did foul out. Carson Towt continued to handle the boards, with a team-high 9 on the night, while Burton also added 10-assist for a double-double. Cole Certa was on fire off the bench, as he made 4-of-7 three-point shots and scored 14-points.

This win pushes Notre Dame’s record to 6-3, and it’ll have a quick turnaround as well. The Irish will take to the road and face off against TCU on Friday night.
