by

Notre Dame women’s basketball player Hannah Hidalgo continues to prove that she is one of the most dominant players in the country.

The star guard was named to the USBWA national team of the week last week after recording 30 points, 13 steals and 10 assists against Bellarmine on December. 21. It was the first 30-point triple-double in program history.

And she is one of only two players in women’s college basketball averaging 25 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists this season. Hidalgo is averaging 25.1 points, 6.4 rebounds and 5.1 assists per game, with Liv McGill of Florida the only other player putting up such spectacular numbers.

After an eight-day break for the Christmas holiday, No. 18 Notre Dame (9-2, 1-0) will host Pittsburgh (7-7, 0-1) on Monday in the team’s 2025-26 ACC home opener. The Irish are 7-0 at Purcell Pavilion this season.

Expect Hidalgo to stay hot as the Fighting Irish seek to make a deep run in the NCAA Tournament.
