Notre Dame star RB shares support for Texas A&M vs. Miami in the CFP

by

Texas A&M’s road to the College Football Playoff wasn’t easy, and was likely solidified after defeating Notre Dame on the road in South Bend, 41-4,0 behind an improbable fourth quarter scoring drive that electrified the country, and made the Aggies instant contenders for the CFP.

After reeling off eight consecutive wins before losing to Texas at the end of the regular season, Texas A&M earned a 7-seed in the CFP. In contrast, Notre Dame, which won ten straight games after losing to Miami and the Aggies, did not earn a spot in the playoff, as the Hurricanes were given the 10-seed due to their head-to-head win over the Fighting Irish.

This decision caused plenty of controversy, and given the circumstances, Notre Dame head coach Marcus Freeman decided not to participate in a bowl game, believing the team’s accomplishments wouldn’t be accurately recognized in one with little meaning.

Two of the program’s top players, running backs Jeremiyah Love and Jadarian Price, declared for the 2026 NFL draft this week after combining for 2,046 yards and 29 touchdowns during the regular season. Knowing that Miami’s early-season win is the primary reason Notre Dame isn’t in the CFP, Love took to social media to show his support for Texas A&M ahead of Saturday’s first-round matchup.

In the Instagram post, Love stated, “Texas A&M, you know the job,” which led many in the Miami media and fanbase to point out that the star back had his worst game of the season against the Hurricanes’ defense, rushing for just 33 yards and adding 26 yards receiving.

Like Love, if you’re not a fan of Miami and have no ill will towards Texas A&M, the Aggies are an easy team to root for in the early Saturday afternoon showdown.
