Notre Dame’s 2026 quarterback commit engineers an epic comeback on Friday night

by

Notre Dame football has long had issues with its quarterback recruiting, but since Marcus Freeman took the program over, he’s been able to fix it and then some.

Noah Grubbs, the Irish’s 2026 commit, of Florida’s Lake Mary High School saw his team down 29-7 to start the fourth quarter. He would then engineer an epic comeback, as the special teams unit blocked a potential game-winning field goal attempt as time expired to win 30-29.

It was a crazy fourth quarter that Grubbs had his hands all over. He threw for three touchdowns, ran in another and kept his cool when the deficit looked insurmountable. It’s these kind of attributes that you want in a quarterback, and Notre Dame found one with them.

Grubbs is ranked as the nation’s No. 262 overall player in the 247Sports Composite, but with more games like this one during his senior year, he could make a big jump. Notre Dame’s quarterback room will just get deeper when he arrives on campus, with plenty of fanfare.
