Oh, she also scored 44 points, which just so happens to be the highest-scoring game in ND women’s basketball history.

There are really no superlatives to even describe Hidalgo’s performance.

The 5-foot-6 junior made 16 of 25 shots (3 of 6 3-pointers) and 9 of 11 free throws, adding nine rebounds and four assists for the No. 18 Fighting Irish (3-0), who next have a showdown with No. 14 Michigan in Detroit on Saturday in the fourth annual Shamrock Classic.

The Irish and Wolverines faced off in the Round of 32 in the 2025 NCAA Tournament, with the Irish earning the 76-55 home victory. Hidalgo had 21 points, going 8-of-14 from the floor, in that victory.
