Novak Djokovic will step onto the Arthur Ashe Stadium on Wednesday morning for his second-round US Open clash against the young American, Zachary Svajda. It will be their first official duel.
Novak saw glimpses of the promises Californian during a couple of practice sessions a couple of years ago. Svajda is enjoying a great run in New York, passing three qualifying rounds in straight sets.
Not stopping there, he ousted Zsombor Piros 6-4, 6-2, 7-5 for his second Major victory. The reward? The second-round clash against the most accomplished player of all time at Arthur Ashe Stadium!

Zachary will try to use the energy of the home crowd to cause an upset against the four-time champion. The combination of youth and the crowd's support can always add an extra edge on the biggest stage, and Djokovic is aware of that.
Novak brigs unmatched experience and preparation, hoping to compete at a higher physical level than against Learnen Tien in the first round.
The veteran is ready to handle another challenge against the home players at Majors, having a brilliant 37-1 run when facing them on the most notable scene. For Djokovic, every Major match carries a dual weight.
He chases that elusive 25th Major title and embraces the test of facing opponents who view a showdown with him as a career-defining moment. Zachary has little to lose and much to gain.

The Serb, meanwhile, remains focused, sharpening his game and preparing to navigate another step in his Nw York campaign, two decades after debuting at the US Open.
"I think I played against Zachary once, I'm not sure. I know him from before, not that well, but we trained a couple of times together while he was younger. He is one of the most promising young Americans.
I'm facing a home player again, and it's always different because of the crowd. They can carry him to play a match of his life, especially after not having anything to lose.
I will do my homework and prepare," Novak Djokovic said.
