Oba Femi has an opponent at Heatwave.
The August 19 episode of WWE NXT went down at The Met in Philly. The night ended by figuring out who will face Oba Femi at Heatwave. WWE NXT Heatwave will take place on Sunday, August 24, 2025, at the Lowell Memorial Auditorium in Lowell, Massachusetts.
The main event of the night saw Trick Williams take on Je’Von Evans. The match had a lot on the line, but Williams’ TNA World Title was not up for grabs. Instead, the winner would get an NXT Title match against Oba Femi at Heatwave.
This match was hard-hitting, and neither side wanted to give up anything. Although Je’Von Evans rallied a bit, Trick Williams was able to gain the upperhand again by launching him off the top rope and launch him through the announce table when he caught him in the middle of a springboard.
The match continued as the two collected themselves through a commercial break. Trick Williams taunted the crowd as Je’Von Evans got to his feet and returned to the ring. Naturally, it was an uphill battle for Evans.
After taking a lot of abuse, Je’Von Evans started to unload strikes on Trick Williams. That sent Trick out of the ring, where Evans nailed a dive on the TNA World Champion. Evans was able to nail his Red Dot kick, but then Trick returned fire with a big right hand. In the end, Williams took his kneepad down, and then Mike Santana distracted him before he could nail a Trick Shot. Evans nailed him with a couple quick moves after that and he got the pinfall just as the show cut off.
This was quite a match, and it gave the fans in Philly an incredible main event. Only time will tell how NXT follows up with this match, but Oba Femi’s match at Heatwave is now in stone.
