You can’t cook the meals unless you go and get the groceries, and that’s what today is about for Ohio State and the rest of college football. It’s the first day of the Early Signing Period, and we’ve seen that in the years since this was put in play, most of the recruits sign with good ‘ole State U during this day than later on when the traditional National Signing Day takes place in February next year.
Yes, the transfer portal can help out with a team’s roster, but the baseline for a program like Ohio State is still built on recruiting great, talented kids, and that’s what we hope is the case starting Wednesday. The goal is for the Buckeyes to haul in another great class to compete with the likes of Oregon, Penn State, and Michigan in the Big Ten and beyond.
