Ohio State will now have two players taking part in the Panini Senior Bowl, with offensive lineman Ethan Onianwa accepting an invite to play on Saturday. This comes after cornerback Davison Igbinosun accepted an invite to play in the game earlier this month.
The Senior Bowl is an All-Star game and an opportunity for outgoing college seniors to be a part of a week-long camp and game in front of NFL scouts to make one last impression and improve their NFL draft stock before the real thing happens in late April. For Onianwa, the game may take on significant importance because he never really got to show what he can do after transferring from Rice to Ohio State during the last offseason. He is now out of eligibility and projected to go in the late rounds, if at all.

He may end up as an undrafted free agent, but a good showing in Shreveport this coming Saturday can hopefully change that perception.
We’ll keep an eye on how all of the former Ohio State players are doing in these All-Star games because sometimes they do indeed make a name for themselves. In fact, if you go back to Terry McLaurin and what he did in the Senior Bowl, there’s no doubt that he improved his standing in the draft, and that has turned into one whale of a career with the Washington Commanders.
