The Oklahoma Sooners began the second half of the season on a high note with a 26-7 win over the South Carolina Gamecocks. The Sooners were efficient on offense, and the defense harassed LaNorris Sellers for six sacks and collected 13 tackles for loss in the game. After the win, OU moved up one spot to No. 13 in the latest AP Poll.
Oklahoma is No. 11 in the most recent US LBM Coaches Poll that was also released on Sunday.

Like they do in the Coaches Poll, the Ohio State Buckeyes are the No. 1 team. The top nine are the same in both polls, and the Oklahoma Sooners will play the No. 8 Ole Miss Rebels this week in Norman in a huge top 15 matchup.
After Ole Miss, the Sooners will travel to Knoxville to take on the No. 17 Tennessee Volunteers. Then, after their bye week, Oklahoma will take on No. 4 Alabama, No. 15 Missouri, and will close the season with No. 20 LSU. The next five games will decide the Sooners’ College Football Playoff aspirations.
If they can go 4-1 to close the season, OU will be firmly in the mix for a playoff berth. If they go 3-2, they may still be in the conversation based on the strenghth of their schedule. 2-3 or worse and Oklahoma will be playing in a bowl game and hoping to for a better season in 2026.
