In the new era of college football, there wasn’t room for Bedlam. But new Oklahoma State coach Eric Morris wants to change that.
Morris, hired by OSU just before Thanksgiving, said Monday during his introductory press conference that he hoped re-kindle the yearly game between Oklahoma and Oklahoma State. The teams didn’t find a way to keep the game going after the Sooners left for the Southeastern Conference following the 2023 season.

“I’d love to get on the phone with anybody that we know that could help us bring that game back. If they’re asking if Coach Morris welcomes that game, I’d welcome it with open arms,” Morris said.
According to Tulsa World reports in the fall, Oklahoma administration reached out to Oklahoma State about starting over, but the Cowboys had little interest. OSU athletic director Chad Weiberg said the schools would continue talking about the possibility, though nothing was imminent.
Oklahoma leads the series, 90-21-7. The Pokes won two of the last three before things ended, including the most recent meeting in 2023, 27-24.
Oklahoma State is coming of a 1-11 season, its worst since going 0-10-1 in 1991. The Sooners, on the other hand, are readying for a rematch against Alabama. The Sooners and Crimson Tide will meet Friday, Dec. 19 in the first game of the playoffs.
