The Georgia Bulldogs are targeting Oklahoma Sooners transfer portal defensive back Gentry Williams, according to reports from On3 (subscription required). Williams visited Georgia on Sunday, Jan. 4.
Williams is a former four-star recruit from Booker T. Washington High School in Tulsa, Oklahoma. He played in six games and had 10 tackles and two pass deflections for the Sooners in 2025.

Williams suffered a season-ending injury in 2024 and has one year of eligibility left. The 5-foot-11, 190-pound defensive back started 10 games for Oklahoma in 2023 posted 30 tackles, three interceptions and a pass deflection. Williams earned 2023 Big 12 honorable mention for his impressive season. He has been unable to regain that level of production since his injury.
If Williams can return to full health, then he’d be an excellent addition for the Georgia secondary. Georgia has already signed Clemson Tigers transfer safety Khalil Barnes and could be looking for more pieces in the secondary.
Next season, Georgia could start Ellis Robinson, Demello Jones, KJ Bolden, Kyron Jones and Khalil Barnes at defensive back. Joenel Aguero, Zion Branch and Rasean Dinkins would also be expected to receive significant snaps if they return to UGA.
