Oklahoma vs Gonzaga Prediction, Picks & Odds for Tonight’s College Basketball Game

The Oklahoma Sooners head to Spokane for a clash against the No. 21 Gonzaga Bulldogs tonight.

The Zags have turned into a perennial Top-25 team under Mark Few, but my Oklahoma vs. Gonzaga predictions think oddsmakers are overlooking a talented Sooners squad.

Oklahoma vs Gonzaga prediction

Oklahoma vs Gonzaga best bet: Oklahoma +11.5 (-115)

This is the Oklahoma Sooners‘ fifth year under Porter Moser, who took them to the NCAA tournament last season. The Sooners went 14-2 in the non-conference part of their schedule last year before their play declined in the highly competitive Big 12.

The Gonzaga Bulldogs typically breeze through their cupcake conference schedule, but don’t always win with margin against teams closer to their level.

Oklahoma has to replace four starters but has the nation’s 11th-ranked transfer class with guards Nijel Pack and Xzayvier Brown, and forwards Tae Davis and Derrion Reid.

Brown was one of the best players in the Atlantic-10 Conference, while Pack is a five-year starter who was on the All-Big 12 first team in 2022. Davis averaged 15.1 points per game with Notre Dame last season, while Derrion Reid was the No. 11-overall recruit in 2024, but had a bench role on a loaded Alabama team.

Add in returning center Mohamed Wague and redshirt freshman Kuol Atak, and this is a quality team that should make the NCAA tourney again. It took the new-look Sooners some time to gel in their season opener, but they found their footing in the second half to go on a 32-3 run in a dominant win.

The Zags have a loaded frontcourt anchored by returners Graham Ike and Braden Huff, along with transfer Tyon Grant-Foster. But I’m not sold on their new backcourt, which could have issues with ball-handling and perimeter shooting.

The Sooners are talented and athletic enough to hang with Gonzaga tonight.

Oklahoma vs Gonzaga same-game parlay

The Bulldogs smoked Texas Southern 98-43 in their season opener while shooting 30-for-47 (64%) from inside the arc. Meanwhile, the Sooners scored 106 points and shot 70% from 2-point range against Saint Francis.

Both teams will get to the rim, and I’m not confident in either defending at a high level inside. Both squads play at a blazing-fast pace, which has me leaning toward the Over.

A fast tempo also means more available rebounds for Wague. The 6-foot-10 center averaged 9.0 rebounds per game in three postseason contests last year and pulled down 10 boards in Oklahoma’s season opener.

Our beyond the arc SGP: Zags show early strength

While I like Oklahoma to cover the full game spread, there’s a good reason why the Zags are double-digit faves, which is why I still think they’ll lead at halftime.
