It was a happy day all around for Ole Miss, as the Rebels picked up a big win over The Citadel during an unusually late non-conference matchup. And in the middle of it, a happy couple got engaged on the field during the win — and Ole Miss coach Lane Kiffin got to be a part of it.
During the third quarter of the Rebels’ 49-0 win over the Bulldogs, an Ole Miss fan came out to the field to kick a field goal as part of a promotion, bringing his (then-)girlfriend out with him. But instead of doing the kick, the fan got down on one knee and proposed.

The fan’s now-fiancée, who was clearly surprised, accepted. And after the two got engaged, they were greeted by Kiffin, who came over to celebrate with the couple. Kiffin then joined them in an engagement photo to remember.
Ole Miss’ dominant win was its third straight since a loss to the other Bulldogs, as the Rebels fell 43-35 in a shootout with Georgia. Ole Miss picked up 603 offensive yards in the win, including 452 passing yards.
The Rebels currently sit third in the highly-competitive SEC with a 9-1 record. With two games left in the regular season — both against unranked opponents — Ole Miss should be a lock for the College Football Playoff if they get two more wins.
