The former Auburn quarterback from Lucedale, Mississippi head closer to home after signing with the Ole Miss Rebels, according to ESPN’s Mark Schlabach. The move gives Ole Miss a potential starter for the 2026 season as the program awaits the outcome of Trinidad Chambliss’ appeal for a sixth year of eligibility.
The No. 2 dual-threat quarterback in the Class of 2025, Knight originally committed to the Notre Dame Fighting Irish in September 2023 before flipping to Auburn. He appeared in two games this past season, spending most of the year behind Jackson Arnold and Ashton Daniels. Knight made his lone start in Auburn’s 62-17 win over FCS opponent Mercer on Nov. 22, completing 15 of 20 passes for 239 yards and two touchdowns while rushing for 162 yards and four scores.
Knight entered the portal after Auburn’s coaching change brought in Byrum Brown, the former starter for new coach Alex Golesh at South Florida. The duo cleaned out the QB room, but could be the best news for the Rebels.

Ole Miss is navigating through Chambliss’ eligibility case after an NCAA committee denied his waiver for a sixth season Friday. It was a decision the school plans to appeal, attorney Tom Mars told Sporting News on Friday.
Chambliss was named SEC Newcomer of the Year in 2025 after throwing for 3,937 yards and leading the Rebels to a 13-2 record, capped by a CFP semifinal loss to the Miami Hurricanes.
