It appears Ole Miss offensive coordinator Charlie Weis is following Lane Kiffin to LSU. On3’s Pete Nakos reported the news first. A photo also circulated on social media of Weis boarding a plane destined for Baton Rouge.
The move is a win for LSU as Weis brings a pedigree of success both in Oxford and at previous stops. He’s been with Kiffin since the latter was at Florida Atlantic and served as South Florida’s offensive coordinator before joining the Rebels in 2022. Weis also spent time under Kiffin at Alabama.

Weis mentored current New York Giants quarterback Jaxon Dart in Oxford for two seasons, helping him set numerous school records and become a first-round draft pick. Ole Miss led the SEC in total offense, passing offense, scoring offense, yards per completion and completion percentage in 2024.
In a new era of college athletics, Weis recruits well and is used to coaching new players every year since Kiffin is aggressive in the transfer portal. He ensured backup passer Trinidad Chambliss was ready to succeed an injured Austin Simmons. The result will likely be Ole Miss’s first appearance in the College Football Playoffs.
