A mixed martial arts (MMA) fight nearly ended in disaster earlier today (Sat., Sept. 20, 2025) after a spear resulted in both fighters flying through the ropes onto the hardwood floor.
The specifics of this fight are unknown at this time, but there’s really no need for names, background stories, or pro records. The fact of the matter is that this random Saturday afternoon MMA fight could have ended with someone in critical condition given the fall both fighters took out of the ring. Luckily, it wasn’t as bad as it looked.
What makes this entire sequence even crazier is the fact that it took place just three seconds into the very first round. Both fighters touched gloves before one ran straight forward and ended up spearing his opponent through the ropes. The two men were slowed by nothing and went crashing onto the hardwood floor. The fighter who got speared appeared to land directly on his back, but somehow didn’t suffer any serious injury.

The fighter who devised the rare spear went on to score countless slamming takedowns. His opponent had no idea what to do and simply couldn’t defend any advancements. At least he was able to walk away from the contest without any lasting injuries.
