Oregon loses DL Xadavien Sims to Arkansas via transfer portal

by

It should be considered a strong representation of the Oregon Ducks‘ defensive line room to see a number of reserves enter the transfer portal and land at other Power 4 programs with chances to start. Redshirt freshman defensive lineman Xadavien Sims is no different, as he has reportedly committed to the Arkansas Razorbacks, per CBS Sports’ Matt Zenitz.

Sims arrived at Oregon as a four-star and the No. 20 defensive lineman and No. 112 player overall in the 2024 recruiting class, per 247 Sports. He excelled at Durant High School in Durant, OK.

The 6-foot-3, 305-pounder appeared in two games as a true freshman, totaling one tackle and utilizing a redshirt. He didn’t see much more time in 2025, as he also finished with just one tackle all season, coming in the Ducks‘ 69-3 route against the Oklahoma State Cowboys.

With the entire Ducks‘ defensive line returning for another season in 2026, Sims was not alone in entering the portal along the defensive line, as several of his teammates did the same.

Now, with his commitment to Arkansas, Sims will be able to compete for a starting job.

The Razorbacks went 2-10 in 2025, going winless (0-8) in the SEC and finishing the season on a 10-game losing streak. Defense was a massive issue, as they finished 129th in the country in points allowed per game and 116th in rushing yards allowed.

With the addition of Sims, Arkansas surely hopes that he can have a hand in turning that around. The former Duck will have three seasons of eligibility remaining.
