OSU Sweeps Pitt on Senior Day for Buckeyes

The Ohio State men’s and women’s swimming and diving teams swept Pitt on Saturday, Jan. 31, on senior day for OSU.

The OSU men won 193.5-106.5 and the women won 195-105.

The OSU women started the meet with a win in the 200-yard medley relay. KK LeBlanc, Maria Ramos Najji, Carrie Furbee and Rachel Bockrath finished in 1:35.96.

Ramos Najji won the 100 breaststroke in 58.92. Bockrath took the 50 free in 22.21 and 100 free in 47.73.

OSU’s Mila Nikaronov won he 1000 free in 9:30.45 and 500 free (4:39.30). Delia Lloyd won the 200 free in 1:46.13 just ahead of Nikaronov (1:46.89). Jessica Eden won the 200 fly (1:56.69). Paige Delma won the 200 breaststroke in 2:13.39 and 200 IM in 1:58.14.

Lloyd, Erin Little, Sienna Angove and Bockrath won the 400 free relay in 3:13.76.

Pitt’s Claire Jansen won the 100 backstroke in a time of 52.18 and 200 back in 1:54.51. Sydney Gring won the 100 fly in 52.11.

The OSU men started with Joseph Roth, Mason Francis, Evan Fentress and Jack Schuster winning the 200 medley relay in 1:26.23.

OSU’s Isaac Fleig won the 1000 free in 9:01.47. Mason Edmund won the 200 fly (1:44.37). Matthew Klinge won the 50 free in 19.30 and 100 fly (44.63). Krys Gorski won the 200 back in 1:44.08. Tristan Jankovics won he 200 breast in 1:56.93 and 200 IM (1:45.71). Jordi Vilchez won the 500 free in 4:23.33.

Pitt’s Julian Koch won the 200 free in 1:33.79 and 100 free in 42.74. Mason Leach won the 100 back in 46.91. Eli Hobson won the 100 breaststroke (53.29).

Koch, James Allison, Evan Witte and Merlin Belmon won the 400 free relay in 2:51.45.
