The Angels are set to add infield depth, agreeing to a trade with the Yankees for Oswald Peraza, according to a report by the YES Network’s Jack Curry on Thursday. Neither club has confirmed the deal.
Peraza has struggled to hit in his four big league seasons, slashing .190/.263/.285 with seven homers in 145 games, but he provides some value with his speed and defensive versatility.
The 25-year-old Peraza, who isn’t due to be a free agent until after the 2029 season, has played third base, second and shortstop during his time in the Majors and ranks in the 82nd percentile this year in arm strength (88.8 mph average).
