OU vs. Temple

  • Where: Lincoln Financial Field, Philadelphia

Scouting Temple

  • Best player: Running back Jay Ducker. Ducker was named a preseason second-team All-AAC honoree by multiple outlets and was named to the Doak Walker watch list recognizing the top running back in college football. He’s off to a solid start to the season, averaging 7.4 yards per carry.

  • The case for Temple: If the Owls can replicate Illinois State’s performance against the Sooners by limiting the run game, maybe they can keep it close for a while. OU has yet to figure out its running back rotation and has seen little success in the ground game outside of Mateer.

  • The case for OU: The Sooners will roll into Philadelphia full of confidence after their massive win over Michigan. Expect John Mateer to rack up stats yet again through the air and on the ground. OU’s defense, which has allowed only one touchdown this season, should overwhelm Temple.
