A light heavyweight bout is the latest addition to the back half of UFC’s two-event March homestand.
Ion Cutelaba (19-11-1 MMA, 8-10-1 UFC) is set to take on Oumar Sy (12-1 MMA, 3-1 UFC) at UFC Fight Night 269 (Paramount+), which is set for March 14 at the UFC Apex in Las Vegas. People with knowledge of the booking confirmed the matchup to MMA Junkie, but asked to remain anonymous since the UFC has not yet made a formal announcement.

The 32-year-old Cutelaba will be looking to bounce back from a split decision loss to Modestas Bukauskas this past May, which snapped a two-fight winning streak. The majority of analysts and pundits tracked by MMA Decisions scored the fight for Cutelaba. A win would have given him his first three-fight winning streak in 10 years, since before he arrived in the UFC.
Sy picked up wins in his first two UFC bouts to stay unbeaten at 11-0. But after he had to pull out of a fight against Alonzo Menifield, his most decorated opponent yet, he dropped a decision to him in rebooked bout this past June. But he bounced rebounded in a big way when he took out Brendson Ribeiro with a first-round TKO in September.
