PCB has postponed the Ireland series ahead of the Asia Cup 2025

Pakistan’s upcoming series against Ireland has been postponed to 2027 due to scheduling concerns. The white-ball series, which comprises three T20Is and three ODIs, will no longer be held in its current October window.

At the time, it was expected to take place in the early part of Pakistan’s home season in 2025. When the PCB released its official season schedule, the series against Ireland was slotted in for September-October.

While it was initially expected to be moved further out in the season, ESPNcricinfo has reported it will instead be removed from this home season and moved to the next one, with both boards looking for an alternate date in 2027.

However, that window has become too congested for Pakistan, as they are currently playing a white-ball series against the West Indies. At the end of this month, they will go on to take part in a tri-series involving Afghanistan and the UAE.

PCB urged for a tri-series in the UAE for Asia Cup preparations

The Pakistan Cricket Board had announced that they are looking forward to shifting the bilateral series against Afghanistan to a tri-nation series in the United Arab Emirates. UAE has been declared as the nation to host the Asia Cup 2025, despite India being the official hosts.

After it was proposed, the UAE cricket association has agreed to the white-ball tour as it would be played at the Sharjah Cricket Ground from the 29th of August to the 7th of September.

This tour has been planned with a view at the Asia Cup 2025, which will be held from the 9th of September, just two days after the conclusion of the tri-series.

West Indies levelled the T20I series with a 1-1 win in the Second T20I
