Patty Gasso, Sooners earn commitment from 2027 infielder

by

Oklahoma softball coach Patty Gasso earned their second commitment of the day in the 2027 recruiting class on Tuesday. After the No. 1 outfielder in the cycle, Finlee Williams, pledged to OU, infielder Emma Reynolds followed suit, committing to the Sooners.

Reynolds of Queen Creek, Arizona, announced her intention to play for Gasso and OU in college. A four-star prospect, Reynolds was one of several high-schoolers who took a visit to campus over the weekend. She’s also the second commitment of the bunch.

“I want to thank my Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ for this amazing opportunity,” Reynolds wrote on social media. “I want to thank my family, friends, coaches, and teammates. Blessed to be a sooner!”

Reynolds, a shortstop, comes from an athletic family. Her father played football at Arizona State, and her brother is committed to play quarterback for Clemson in the class of 2026. She’s also teammates on Rising Fastpitch, her travel softball team, with another OU commit, Payton Westra.

The Sooners will return 13 players from last year’s Women’s College World Series team. Oklahoma made it all the way to the semifinals, one game short of playing in the best-of-three championship, falling to Texas Tech. The Red Raiders ultimately lost to Texas in the title series.

Reynolds is the fourth member of Oklahoma’s 2027 class. She joins catcher Riley Hilliard, catcher Goose Hutchens of Wagoner, and outfielder Finlee Williams. Those three players are all five-star recruits.
