by

This year’s WTA Finals are going to feature a lot of stars and stripes.

Jessica Pegula has become the fourth American woman to qualify for the tour’s season-ending championships in Riyadh, joining Coco Gauff, Amanda Anisimova and Madison Keys in the elite eight-player field.

The WTA announced today that Pegula had qualified, in addition to the doubles team of Hsieh Su-Wei and Jelena Ostapenko.

They are both the sixth player and doubles pairing to secure their place in Riyadh, with just two coveted spots now remaining in singles and doubles as the PIF Race to the WTA Finals goes down to the wire.

Pegula, the 2023 WTA Finals runner-up, will be making her fourth WTA Finals appearance. She joins world No.1 Aryna Sabalenka, Iga Swiatek, defending champion Coco Gauff, Amanda Anisimova and Madison Keys in the singles draw.

Hsieh and Ostapenko will be competing alongside Katerina Siniakova & Taylor Townsend, Sara Errani & Jasmine Paolini, Gabriela Dabrowski & Erin Routliffe, Veronika Kudermetova & Elise Mertens and Mirra Andreeva & Diana Shnaider in the doubles field.

The WTA Finals begin on November 1 in Riyadh.

Mirra Andreeva, Jasmine Paolini and Elena Rybakina are still in the hunt for the final two spots.
