While the transfer portal is open and running wild, Penn State and new head coach Matt Campbell are also trying to lock up the Class of 2026 before the traditional signing period. That work continued with an effort continued with another player flipping from Iowa State, wide receiver Amarion Jackson.
Jackson committed to Penn State on Saturday after being released from his signing at Iowa State. Jackson signed with the Cyclones during the early signing period, before Matt Campbell was hired away by Penn State. Jackson is rated as a three-star recruit according to the 247Sports composite rankings. The Omaha, Nebraska native is expected to enroll at Penn State for the spring semester.

Jackson is the first wide receiver commitment in Penn State’s Class of 2026. Penn State signed two players during the early signing period prior to the hiring of Matt Campbell. Since then, Penn State has received commitments from seven other players who had previously committed or signed wiht Iowa State for the Class of 2026.
The latest commitment helps Penn State’s Class of 2026 continue to slowly climb the ranks. What was once in the 150s in the national rankings has now crept up into the top 100 according to the updated recruiting rankings from 247Sports. It is still a long way to go to be where Penn State’s expectations are, but the work is slowly coming together to save this recruiting cycle as much as possible.
