The wait is finally over for Penn State fans. The first kickoff of the 2025 season happens today as Penn State hosts Nevada in the first meeting between the two schools for the season opener. Penn State starts the season ranked No. 3 in the US LBM Coaches Poll and No. 2 in the AP poll following an offseason of national championship hype and expectactions after making a deep playoff run a season ago.
Kickoff is scheduled for 3:30 p.m. ET on CBS as Penn State helps break in another season of Big Ten coverage on CBS. The weather outlook will make it feel much more like fall rather than Labor Day weekend, with kickoff temperatures expected to be in the high 60s. In other words, this should be picture-perfect football weather for a season opener in Happy Valley. What more could you ask for?
