NASSAU, Bahamas – The Penn State women’s basketball team secured an 83-67 win over San Diego State in the second game of the Battle 4 Atlantis Tournament.
The Nittany Lions climbed back from an early deficit in the first quarter to capture the lead, which they did not relinquish for the remainder of the contest. Three Penn State players reached the double-figure scoring mark in the victory, including Gracie Merkle with 26, Kiyomi McMiller with 19 and Nyla McFadden with 10

Redshirt junior Merkle recorded her third consecutive 20-plus-point outing with 26 points on 12-of-15 shooting from the field. The 6-foot-6 center also posted her 35th career double-double with 12 rebounds. Sophomore McMiller extended her double figure scoring stretch to six games, adding 19 points, six rebounds and four assists. Freshman McFadden had a breakout performance with 10 points to go with five rebounds, four steals and two assists.
As a team, the Nittany Lions forced 18 turnovers and compiled 14 steals. Freshman Tèa Clèante led the way with five steals. Penn State dominated the glass by a 45-32 margin, including 17 offensive boards. For the sixth straight game, the Nittany Lions outscored their opponent in the paint, 48-22.
