PFL: Road to Dubai lineup loses main card fighter

by

PFL is seeking a new opponent for one of its biggest French stars.

“Lazy King” Abdoul Abdouraguimov now sits on the PFL: Road to Dubai fight card without a dance partner as Magomed Umalatov has withdrawn from the Feb. 7 bout at Coca-Cola Arena. It’s unclear why Umalatov (18-1) withdrew.

Two people with knowledge of the move recently informed MMA Junkie of the withdrawal but asked to remain anonymous since the promotion has yet to make an official announcement.

One of France’s most popular fighters, Abdouraguimov (19-1) is expected to remain on the card should the promotion be able to find a willing combatant counterpart. Abdouraguimov is 3-0 under the PFL banner thus far with wins over Brad Wheeler, Jack Grant, and Laureano Staropoli.

The updated PFL: Road to Dubai lineup includes:

  • Champion Usman Nurmagomedov vs. Alfie Davis – for lightweight title

  • Ramazan Kuramagomedov vs. Shamil Musaev – for vacant welterweight title

  • Abdoul Abdouraguimov vs. opponent TBA

  • Salamat Isbulaev vs. Jesus Pinedo

  • Pouya Rahmani vs. Karl Williams

  • Kolton Englund vs. Amru Magomedov
