The Phoenix Mercury will welcome back a familiar face following the All-Star break, hosting Brittney Griner and the Atlanta Dream before hitting the road for an extended East Coast swing.
Griner, a WNBA champion and nine-time All-Star, will return to Phoenix on July 23 for the first time since signing with the Dream in the offseason. After spending over a decade with the Mercury, the No. 1 overall pick in 2013 holds the franchise records for rebounds (2,322) and blocks (812).

With guard Allisha Gray leading the way, the Dream enjoyed a solid first half of the season and are in the top five in the WNBA. Gray averaged over 18 points and is one of the leading 3-point shooters in the league.
However, the Dream were dealt unfortunate news when guard Rhyne Howard went down with a left knee injury on July 11. Howard, the No. 1 draft pick in 2022, will be out for the remainder of July.
The game will be shown locally on Arizona’s Family 3TV at 7 p.m.
It’s a quick turnaround following the Dream matchup. The Mercury jump on a plane for a five-game road trip that begins on July 25, in New York against Sabrina Ionescu, Breanna Stewart and the Liberty.
