The Ohio State women’s basketball program has been among the best in the Big Ten and a top-ten program in the country over the last few years. And while the expectations might be a little lower this season, head coach Kevin McGuff should be able to keep the program at a respectable level and hopefully surprise the national media again.
If so, the Buckeyes will have to climb the polls a bit, because the preseason NCAA Women’s Basketball Coaches Poll was released on Thursday, and Ohio State checked just did make the top 25, checking in at No. 24.

The top ten has some usual suspects before all the games are played. UConn starts atop the poll, followed by South Carolina (2), Texas, (3) UCLA, (4) LSU, (5) Duke, (6) Oklahoma, (7) NC State (8), Tennessee (9), and Maryland (10) round out the preseason top ten.
