The Florida State Seminoles are welcoming a new punter to Tallahassee. Daniel Hughes, who spent the 2025 season with the New Mexico Lobos, has signed with FSU.
Hughes is 27 years old and is originally from Melbourne, Australia, and stands 6-foot-5, weighing 235 pounds. He has three years of eligibility remaining and owns a 4.0 GPA. He has a respectable social media following as well, and this article sheds some light on his uniqueness.

Hughes had quite a year in New Mexico after spending his prior season in JUCO. He put up numbers that werenβt school records only due to lack of total number of punts in New Mexicoβs excellent offense. His net average of 43.6 yards per punt (on 37 total punts) would have been good for the second-best mark in Mountain West Conference history in addition to becoming a New Mexico school record.
