Purdue Football a Nearly 30 Point Home Dog Against Ohio State

by

This is one of those stories where the headline really tells a lot of the tale. It’s no surprise that Purdue is going to be an underdog heading into this Saturday’s game against Ohio State. We all knew that was going to happen. What we didn’t know was how much of an underdog. Well, now we know. Our friends over at FanDuel currently have Purdue as a 29.5 point underdog at -105. If you listened to the podcast that came out today, and you definitely should, you’d know that Ohio State is allowing an average of less than 8 points per game in their five Big Ten games so far this season. Let’s assume that Purdue hits the average and scores 8, two field goals and a safety obviously, that would mean that it would just take Ohio State scoring 38 points. That doesn’t seem all that reasonable does it?

If you’re more inclined to look at moneyline odds and try to find a winner, you can make a big risk and bet on Purdue at +3000. Now, I’m not going to advocate for a specific bet but I will say that if you’re putting any real amount of money on the moneyline for the Boilermakers it might be time to use that little phone number at the bottom of all of those gambling ads.

I for one will not be placing a bet on Purdue on this one. Just not confidence in their ability to score but also given the strange nature of the Michigan game maybe this will somehow be a slog as well? Either way, whatever you do with your money be okay with losing it.
