WEST LAFAYETTE — Dallas Crescenzo traveled more than 1,000 miles to see Purdue football‘s most recent home game Oct. 4.
Twelve days later, the 6-foot receiver became the first member of the Boilermakers‘ 2027 recruiting class.

Crescenzo, a three-star receiver from Texas, announced his verbal commitment Thursday evening on Twitter.
Crescenzo becomes part of a Purdue future receiving corps that also includes 2026 verbal commits Kymistrii Young and Brandon Kinsey.

Crescenzo had 15 offers, including from fellow Big Ten programs UCLA and Maryland, according to 247Sports. He was rated three stars, No. 575 nationally and the 75th wide receiver in the Rivals industry rankings for the Class of 2027.
In six games this season, Crescenzo has 29 receptions for 660 yards and seven touchdowns for unbeaten Bastrop High. Crescenzo previously played for Santaluces High in Florida.
