One of the breakthrough fighters of 2025 has his first UFC assignment of 2026, but it’s a different opponent than initially scheduled.
Highly-touted rising lightweight Quillan Salkilld will now face fellow Australian Jamie Mullarkey at UFC 325 on Jan. 31, after an injury withdrawal from original opponent Zhu Rong, the promotion recently announced. The event takes place at Qudos Bank Arena in Sydney, Australia.
It’ll be a home game for Salkilld (10-1 MMA, 3-0 UFC), who had a stupendous first calendar year in the UFC. After a vicious, 61-second knockout of Anshul Jubli, he defeated Yanal Ashmouz by unanimous decision. If he hadn’t already turned heads, Salkilld certainly did with his violent head kick knockout of Nasrat Haqparast in October.
