The Royals have acquired veteran outfielder Randal Grichuk from the Diamondbacks, a source told MLB.com’s Steve Gilbert. The clubs have not confirmed the move.
It is not yet known what the D-backs will receive in return.
Mostly serving in a platoon role vs. lefties in Arizona, Grichuk entered Saturday slashing .243/.280/.462 with seven homers, 15 doubles and 22 RBIs in his second year with the Snakes. That was after he hit put up an .875 OPS and 12 homers with the D-backs in 2024.
Overall, the 33-year-old is a .252 hitter with 210 career homers in 12 seasons in the Majors.
Kansas City can certainly use his bat, entering Saturday ranking 29th in the league in scoring and homers.
