All-Star outfielder Randy Arozarena and the Mariners avoided arbitration on Thursday, agreeing to a $15.65 million deal for 2026, a source told MLB.com’s Daniel Kramer. The club also avoided arbitration with right-hander George Kirby, agreeing to a one-year, $6.55 million contract. The team has not confirmed either deal.
Arozarena, who was acquired from Tampa Bay prior to the 2024 Trade Deadline, slashed .238/.334/.426 with a career-high 27 home runs and 31 stolen bases in 160 games in 2025. He was worth 4.0 WAR according to Baseball Reference — the second-best mark of his career — and posted an OPS+ of 119, meaning he was 19 percent better than the average MLB player. Arozarena was named an All-Star for the second time.
Arozarena hit .188 with one homer in 12 postseason games as Seattle fell one game short of the World Series, though he led all players with five steals.
Arozarena, who turns 31 in February, was in his final year of arbitration eligibility and is scheduled to be a free agent after the 2026 season.
