Rasheed Wallace joins 6-1-1 Podcast

by

Rasheed Wallace was a four-time NBA All-Star and 2004 champion with the Detroit Pistons who played 16 NBA seasons.

In the latest episode of the “6-1-1 Podcast” co-hosted by Ryan Howard and Jimmy Rollins, Wallace talked with the Phillies greats about a variety of topics, including comparing NBA stars to MLB stars.

“The one [comparison] that’s easiest for me is Aaron Judge and Shaq [Shaquille O’Neal]. Judge gets them up out of there whenever they’re in a rut,” Wallace said. “He can go out there and pop two or three home runs. Next thing you know, they’re on a four- or five-game winning streak. That’s how it was with Shaq. He was just an unstoppable force.”

It wasn’t just Wallace making comparisons between stars from each league. Rollins invoked the comparison between Reds shortstop Elly De La Cruz and Oklahoma City Thunder superstar and 2024-25 MVP and NBA champion Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, noting how dynamic both players are.

Wallace also referenced SGA as a comparison to Dodgers two-way star Shohei Ohtani, given both players’ abilities to impact the game on both sides of the ball.
